How to use this tool

Start with the right operation

Paste your text, choose one cleaning operation and select Transform text. Remove duplicate lines is useful for lists of names, labels or repeated log messages. Remove line breaks joins short physical lines into readable paragraphs, which can help with text copied from a PDF. Trim and collapse spaces removes indentation and turns runs of horizontal whitespace into a single ordinary space. Each operation produces a new result while keeping the source in the input field. Operations are separate so that a request to tidy spaces does not unexpectedly remove repeated lines. To combine them, copy one result into the input and run the next operation.

How duplicate lines are compared

The duplicate cleaner retains the first occurrence of each matching line and preserves the order of the remaining lines. Trimming is enabled by default: leading and trailing whitespace is removed before both comparison and output. Disable it when indentation or trailing spaces carry meaning. Match letter case is also enabled by default, so Alpha and alpha are distinct. Turn it off to compare their JavaScript lowercase forms. This is not a language-specific collation rule: Straße and STRASSE remain different, and visually similar characters or different Unicode normalization forms are not merged. Blank lines participate in duplicate removal unless Remove blank lines is enabled, which removes all of them.

Joining wrapped text without losing paragraphs

With paragraph preservation enabled, a blank line separates paragraphs. Nonblank lines inside each paragraph are trimmed and joined with one space. Multiple empty separator lines become a single blank line between output paragraphs. Disable this setting to make the whole input one continuous paragraph. Internal spacing within an individual source line is retained during line-break removal; use the space cleanup operation separately if needed. The tool does not reconstruct multi-column reading order, remove page numbers, recognize headings or repair words broken by a hyphen at the end of a PDF line. Inspect these cases manually before sharing the result.

Limits, downloads and deliberate changes

All cleaner operations normalize Windows CRLF, old-style carriage returns and Unicode line or paragraph separators to LF line endings. Space cleanup also collapses tabs and nonbreaking spaces, so avoid it for code indentation, tables or text whose exact spacing matters. The input limit is 200,000 UTF-16 characters, the unit used by browser text fields; some emoji occupy two or more units. Results are rendered as plain text, copied only when you request it and downloaded as UTF-8 text. Changing any input or setting clears the previous result so that an outdated transformation cannot be downloaded accidentally. Processing stays in the page without uploading the pasted content.
