How to use this tool
- Choose a JPG, PNG or WebP image, or load the sample.
- Drag a rectangular selection or enter its pixel coordinates. Choose Blur, Pixelate or Solid cover and apply the effect.
- Repeat for other areas, choose PNG or JPG output and export the image. Inspect the downloaded file before sharing.

Select a rectangular area
Choose a JPEG, PNG or WebP image or load the supplied sample. Drag across the preview to select an area. Dragging in either direction works, and the coordinates are converted from the displayed preview back into source-image pixels. For keyboard access or precise placement, enter the left X position, top Y position, width and height in the numeric controls. Zero is the top-left corner of the source image. A region extending beyond an image edge is clipped to that edge. Choose Apply to selected region to commit the effect; simply drawing a selection does not edit or export the image.
Choose the appropriate effect
Solid cover replaces the selected visual pixels with an opaque color, black by default. Blur spreads nearby colors using the browser canvas filter. Pixelate reduces the selected area to a smaller grid and enlarges the grid without smoothing. The strength control sets a blur radius or a nominal pixel block size in source-image pixels, so a large photo may need a stronger setting than a small screenshot. Blur and pixelation are visual effects and are unsuitable for confidential redaction: shapes, text or identity can remain recognizable or inferable. Use solid cover when your aim is to replace a visible area, and inspect the actual downloaded file before sharing.
Review multiple regions and undo
Apply up to fifty rectangular regions in sequence. Effects are composited in the order you apply them, so a later region can cover or alter an earlier one. Undo last region removes the most recent operation, while Reset all regions returns to the decoded source image. The editing history is held only in memory during this visit. Export after any change to create a current download; an older download remains under your control and is not updated automatically. The selection outline is a preview aid and is excluded from the export. There is no automatic face detection, optical character recognition or tracking of objects.
Export, limits and data handling
PNG output preserves the decoded alpha channel outside opaque covers. JPEG output is encoded at quality 0.92, fills transparent areas with white and can introduce compression artifacts. Both outputs are new raster files made from the browser canvas, rather than editable layers or a copy of the source metadata bundle. This tool is not a certified metadata scrubber or document-redaction system, and it cannot evaluate whether an image contains hidden or sensitive information elsewhere. Input files must be no larger than twenty-five megabytes, forty megapixels and twelve thousand pixels per side. Browser memory can impose a lower practical limit. Animated inputs use only the first decoded frame. The file stays on your device; no image-upload endpoint is used.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use the tool without dragging?
Yes. Enter X, Y, width and height in source-image pixels, choose an effect and use Apply to selected region.
Does blur securely redact private information?
No. Blur and pixelation can leave information recognizable or inferable. Solid cover replaces selected visual pixels, but this tool is not a certified redaction system.
Can I undo several regions?
Yes. Undo removes one applied region at a time; Reset all regions restores the decoded source image.
Are source files or editing history saved?
No. Processing and history stay in browser memory. Downloads remain on your device until you remove them.
